Being the Michael Jackson fan I am, the other day i purchased the This Is It DVD. Having seen the film at the cinema the main reason i bought it was to watch the behind the scenes/special features.
I am one of those people that always watches the special features of DVDs. I love blooper reels, i love costume design, i love the entire creative process of making a film.
Yesterday when watching the behind the scenes footage not only was i totally captivated by the production of this concert (it would have been AMAZING), I was so glad to see the people MJ worked with for so many years interviewed. Their honesty and emotion left me with mascara stained cheeks last night and i think captured a side of Michael Jackson that the media had tarnished within the last ten years.
In the end he seemed like a genuine friend. A hilarious, creative highly misunderstood person. Unique at the very least.
