I recently sorted out my wardrobe. I chucked the things I haven't worn in years or that no longer fit and in doing so have decided to change my outlook on a few things. I now will only buy something if it " makes me want to dance". If you are questioning an item don't bother. Too I recently read the concept of keeping a shopping list with you at all times. As someone on a student budget I think this is a wonderful idea: a great way to question whether you genuinely want something and a great motivator to save for those investment pieces. By shopping list I mean a list of the items in your 'dream' closet. Things you can wear over and over again: the basics you need for everyday living. I know this sounds awfully limiting but I figure if one dress can be worn for a year I can limit myself to a list. List number one if drafted below:
Note my wardrobe is limited in colour to black, navy, grey, neutrals (creams/whites/pinks/minks), metallics & 4 highlight colours: magenta, royal purple, cobalt blue & coral.
Outerwear
Underwear
Tops

Bottoms
Extras
Shoes
Bags
What would you keep on your list? I realise mine is vague but really if need be it could be packed easily (within a suitcase or two) and would ensure your outfits are all always coordinated.
Lets see how long this lasts.
