Bon Voyage

Hello Ladies and Gents,

I had a wonderful farewell weekend filled with cocktails, roast lamb and balloons. I was gifted lovely cards and a St Christopher pendent. I had no idea who this saint was let alone who he had on his back. Turns out he is is the Patron Saint of Travel and it was Jesus on his back.
If anyone has got your back Jesus seems to be a pretty good bet.

Anyway, today after the weekend shenanigans it was all last minute emails and phone calls and packing and checking and triple checking and now I am just about to go to bed. It is currently 10:30 pm.

Despite the fact that I am flying out at 3:15 tomorrow afternoon in true Lees fashion we are leaving at 7 am. So it will be the last night I spend in my bed for a while.

I honestly cannot believe that tomorrow I am moving to England for six months. This is something I have been thinking about and working towards for over a decade and it is finally actually happening and that thought alone makes me want to simultaneously jump for joy and burst into tears.

Who knows what tomorrow brings or the week after that. If it involves anything like this flyer or this roomate it is sure to be interesting. But. For now. I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone who has helped me get to where I am, has offered words of wisdom, gifts and cards and catch ups. I love you all. Thank you so, so very much.

Sweet dreams darlings.
Tomorrow the adventures begin!

Sweet Dreams

Good night everyone,

I hope your dreams are filled with fantastical adventures. Don't you think this lighthouse looks like it belongs in the sweetest of dreams? A few hours north of New York, you have to walk through the woods to get there!

Sweet Dreams

A few amazingly cool things to bid you adieu tonight:

This (now sold out) Good Morning/ Good Night print that glows in the dark! (I was always incredibly jealous of my childhood best friend who like this had a tee shirt that changed colour under different lights.)

Downtownfrombehind: a name that could lead to interesting discussion is a wonderful collection of photographs has captures my idealised ideas of New York oh so well.

Considering we have just redecorated our Kitchen (the before shots look like they belong in the 1970's) using a palette of antique whites and light greys, I saw this kitchen and really liked the pop of colour.

Sweet dreams to all, I'm hoping anxiety will let me get at least a few winks tonight.

xx
ps. Sue Slyvester just called Chord Overstreet Macaulay Culkin: my theory is confirmed.

Sweet Dreams

My birthday is at the end of the month. I will probably be caught up in assessments and sadly unbelievably stressed / my limited number of friends would make for a lousy party anyway but I love the balloons, ruffled table clothes, metallic party hats and soda bottles of this outdoor soiree. Sweet dreams xx

Neverland

Last night I had the pleasure of watching Finding Neverland. I had seen it once before but true be told I was much younger and half asleep so couldn’t remember any distinct details for the life of me. It is in essence a magical movie that highlights I think more than anything (more than imagination itself) the power of friendship. It is captivating, endearing and highlights the simplicity of genuine happiness, something I think we over complicate nowadays and just made me smile. What really caught me however was a quote from Dustin Hoffman. I am one of the people who enjoy watching the behind the scenes footage just as much as the movie itself. I love the creative process, the reasoning, the costumes and the personal insight you get into the individuals who in some way have shaped the film/show. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Hoffman’s statement. He simply said “ always be adult but never become a grown up.” It really struck a chord, so I leave you with that point to ponder as you all venture to Neverland this evening.
Sweet Dreams xx

Sweet Dreams

To me, this banner of pom poms seemed to be twinkling like stars.

So with that note my dears, I hope your all nestled up in your beds with visions of sugar plum fairies dancing in your heads. Or for that matter wonderful cakes like these. Sweet dreams. Literally.
