Kitchen Madness

Hello, I hope life is treating you well.

My life (sadly) has not changed substantially since my last post, that said we are in the midst of renovating our kitchen. Combined with the whirlwind weather of late, our Internet has not been particularly reliable. Needless to say I have been jotting things down and will be back in action (again!) with hopefully smooth sailing ahead. With the kitchen torn apart and reassembled as best as can be expected partially on the veranda, partially in the laundry with the remnants slowing taking over the living room decorating has once again been at the forefront of my recent procrastination. My love for simple, white palettes with hints of colour (navy of late) still tickles my design fancy. Today I organised my MAC and emptied my trash (goodbye 21, 731 unneeded articles) and was happily reintroduced to several inspiring snapshots I have hoarded from somewhere or another. I thought that along with this tutorial for home made garment racks which would fulfill my desire for open shelving and coordinated outfits (on a tangent I organised my draws in colour order so now every time I reach for a tee shirt I am greeted by a rainbow. I consequently decided to adopt the philosophy ' if it doesn't make you want to dance don't buy it' and going to limit my wardrobe to neutral tones (black/grey/navy/cream/white/flesh tones/metallics) with highlights of melon/magenta/mustard/royal purple & blue so that everything will be co-ordinated and each article of clothing will be loved & used more resourcefully.) and introducing you to this New York based interior designer whom recently redecorated Joanna Goddard's NYC apartment and stole my heart in doing so I would share some of my future interior design aspirations.
Enjoy.

P.S. In regards to my now limited colour palettes, growing up my mum had a wonderfully 80's beauty bible that among other things categorised women into the four seasons (technically, Season Colour Analysis Google tells me). I always loved that idea. From what I have read I think I would be classified as Winter (and thee highlight colours I chose happen to be prescribed as winter tones. Truth be told I picked them because they are shades I love & whenever I wear royal blue I get compliments so hey the theory is proven.)
