I have only recently stumbled across the idea of fan-fiction. Whereby fans author stories that generally involve them as a protagonist along side either a) someone famous (a celebrity or musician) or b) a pre-established character (from a film or television show).
I have had a few celebrity crushes in my day, Jesse McCartney being the standout but i think this is a little creepy. They take all these biographical details and merge them into these fantasy stories that generally end with some kind of romance.
Its a little odd and in googleing it further i stumbled across this site. A host for an assortment of fan fictions.
It might just be me but i find it a little creepy (admittedly i did read some out of curiosity).
More, not only do people write these things but others read them religiously and rate them. Rate them on what? Likability? Realism (ha.ha.)? I have no idea, but some of these aren't just some fantasy scribbled in science class. I found a Jonas Brothers one that was 35,000 words long. That is a few thesis papers there.
Crazy. Does anyone read/ write fan-fiction regularly? Id be interested to see.
