Freud

Yesterday i read a 200 page book on Freud and his psychoanalytical theories. I know a lot of people think Freud was a bit of a nutter and i can in one way see where they are coming from, but in another at the basis of his theory lies the concept that we all have desires whether conscious or un and our behaviours and consequent beliefs result from the conflicts of these desires. It is quite logical in my opinion but irks me in a way. Yesterday i just kept thinking of all the different things that have shaped by opinions and values and it started to creep me out a little.

His analysis of dreams is something that has particularly interested me. I always have the oddest dreams- always have had so it will be interesting view them through a psychoanalytic construct. I am actually looking forward to reading more about him which is lucky because that is what i am being tested on next week. So that will just about be it for the day.

Have a lovely afternoon. It is the middle of autumn but it is meant to get up to 35 degrees /air con weather today! crazy! I'm off to finish my tea and zumba.
