valentines day is just around the corner: consequently i have been reading a lot about love lately!

 im not someone who celebrates valentines day: partially cause ive never had anyone to celebrate it with. needless to say im not someone who disregards it as just a hallmark holdiay. 

i think its lovely that the world decides to simultaneously celebrate love- in whatever form and that thought alone makes me believe in the day!

the story of valentines day: At around 270AD Rome was facing battles and civil uprising. The men were not keen to join the army and Emperor Claudius II believed the men didn't want to leave their loved ones and so cancelled all marriages and engagements. Two priests, Valentine and Marius, disobeyed and secretly performed marriage ceremonies. Valentine was caught on February 14 and dragged to jail. Later in the day before his execution, Valentine himself had fallen in love with the jailer's daughter and he signed his final note to her, "From your Valentine."

also- i'm super keen for the film valentines day!  It looks so sweet and somewhat like love actually which is probably my all time favourite chick flick! 

Every year my brothers girlfriend (a friend of mine too!), a guy friend of ours and I go together to see a ROM COM at the cinema! its kind of a ritual- last year it happened to be (500) days of summer- the best film of 09 in my opinion!

its fun and in a way it will be my valentines day celebration!
