Im not going to lie, up until yesterday i had never really thought about it or knew what a blue moon was exactly.
On saturday we had a blue moon- which is the second full moon in a month. It just so happens that you could also see Mars that night and consequently my day was filled with looneys.
The thing that got me though, is that this rare occurrence is actually going to happen again in March.
Amazing really.
I love how the full moon effects people, I remember at Year 5 camp- it was a full moon on Halloween ( and my birthday by chance) and the girls in my cabin were up all night sobbing because they could hear odd noises and howling and were convinced that something was coming after them. Having been kept awake by their cries and used a little logic, the boys cabin next door cottoned on and then started tapping the windows with sticks which only made things worse- hilarious in hindsight.
You forget just how dependent we all are on nature.
